Dr. Rhea Owens

Dr. Rhea Owens is an Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology at the University of North Dakota. She received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and M.S. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. Dr. Owens is currently the Past-Chair of the Division 17 Section on Positive Psychology of the American Psychological Association (APA). She is also on the Executive Clinical Council and the publication Editor for the Positive Clinical Division of the International Positive Psychology Association. Her research interests include the clinical application of positive psychology, particularly with children and youth, as well as the assessment, application, and development of strengths. She is the recipient of the Shane J. Lopez Award for Professional Contributions in Positive Psychology and APA Achievement Award for Early Career Psychologists.
